Dr. Michael Simons has spent more than eight years at the Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Michael Simons serves the university ias a professor of medicine and cell biology. He is the founder of the Yale Cardiovascular Research Center and

The Yale Cardiovascular Research Center (YCVRC) conducts research in variety of areas, including t neuromuscular biology. The vascular and nervous systems are two of the core systems in the human body, and are in fact the first two distinct bodily systems to develop in utero. Both the vascular and nervous systems are exceptionally complex and control an extensive network of signals and receptors responsible for a diverse array of functions, not to mention significant communications between the two systems themselves.

The YCVRC neurovascular biology program iincludes Anne Eichmann, PhD, a professor of cellular and molecular physiology, cardiology and genetics professor, Karen K. Hirschi, PhD, and associate professor of neurology Jean-Leon Thomas, PhD. Additional YCVRC research programs emphasize cardiovascular development, signaling, genetics, and stem cells.
